WCFTR Is Hosting the Northwoods Tour this July!

Logo for North Woods Tour. WCFTR is proud to be hosting the Northwoods Tour this July in the beautiful northwoods of Wisconsin!

A trio of archivists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison return to their roots to present ways to preserve personal and family history in northern Wisconsin. Amy Sloper, head film archivist at the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research, and Catherine Hannula and Jenny Barth, students in archival studies at the School of Library and Information Studies, will present digitizing workshops as well as offer preservation advice for family history materials such as home videos, photographs, slides, and other precious documents to the communities of Bayfield, Barnes and Eau Claire from July 22-24. Attendees are heavily encouraged to bring their own family memorabilia to the event for digitization as well as advice on long-term storage and care. This event is sponsored by the Wisconsin Center for Film & Theater Research, the Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment, the UW-Madison School of Library & Information Studies, the Bayfield Carnegie Library and the Barnes Historical Society.
